Hi Tech Business Centre Unveiled

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - 29 November 2002

The Honourable Mr Jon Stanhope MLA will inaugurate Canberra’s up and coming technology business centre—Canberra Technology Park on Tuesday, 26 November 2002 at 10 am.

Canberra Technology Park is a dedicated business park aimed at information technology and communication organizations and is a business division of the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, Canberra’s leading 3D computer animation training organisation. The primary goal of the Park is to encourage the hubbing of ICT businesses, particularly those related to 3D computer animation, multimedia, programming, on-line training and applications and software development. The Park creates a technology and business environment for businesses to support each other and to take advantage of the expertise and services available internally.

Canberra Technology Park General Manager, Mr Tony Wein said, “The Park is an enjoyable place to work in. The people are friendly, the location is ideal and the atmosphere is a hive of activity.” “Based on a student population of 185, there is a strong culture of youth and enthusiasm which we intend to take advantage of by both attracting and assisting small businesses based on 3D animation and related activities to develop and to add to Canberra’s ITC business base” Mr Wein added.

Currently, Canberra Technology Park is home to a diverse range of tenants including:

  • national game developer–Micro Forte;
  • leading game education and training organisation–Academy of Interactive Entertainment;
  • software developers and trainers–dotNET solutions and many more.

Existing CTP tenant, Mr John Pawlowski, CEO of dotNET said “We had been looking for an office in Canberra for a few months when someone referred us to CTP. We are a small but growing IT business so we thought that being surrounded by other IT companies would complement us.”

The Park is currently seeking more tenants to create the ultimate business centre and encourages visitors to find out more by visiting their website: www.canberratechpark.com
